A bus company has launched its own investigation after a pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a double decker in Leeds city centre.

Vicar Lane was closed for much of yesterday morning (March 10) after the 51-year-old was knocked down on a pedestrian crossing close to the junction with New Market Street outside Kirkgate Market at about 9.10am.

He was taken to hospital with head injuries.
