A BODY pulled from the River Aire in Leeds is believed to be that of a missing mother from Bradford.

Office workers on Whitehall Road contacted the emergency services after seeing a body floating near Whitehall Quay in the city centre on Thursday afternoon.

Police have yet to carry out a formal identification but believe that the body is that of mother-of-one Seemberjeet Kaur.

Mrs Kaur, 35, from the East Bowling area of Bradford, disappeared on October 23 in Roberts Park in Saltaire after failing to pick her daughter up from nursery.

There were immediate concerns for her welfare because she had been suffering from depression.

Despite a number of unconfirmed sightings and an underwater search, she was not found.

Detective Chief Inspector Scott Wood, of the West Yorkshire Police homicide and major enquiry team, said formal identification would take place shortly.

He said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
