The collapse of a Leeds photography firm has left dozens without their treasured photographs and hundreds of pounds.
The YEP has been approached by several unhappy Bujourzee Ltd customers who have paid the firm anything from £60 to £400 for photoshoots and wedding packages and all are yet to receive pictures or refunds.
It has emerged that the director of the company, which leased a studio space in Kirkgate until its eviction last week, has sent a letter to creditors to declare it insolvent. It still remains unclear as to whether many customers will be compensated at all.
Jo Wood, 42, from Garforth, and three friends booked a shoot for September, paying £160 direct to Bujourzee.
“It’s pretty rough, it was a thankyou to my friends for being supportive for me during a tough time,” she said. “It’s just frustrating, £160 is not life-threatening but it’s something I’ve lost and I’ve got nothing from it.”
Documents logged at Companies House show Bujourzee Ltd as “active” although there is a “proposal to strike off”.
Customers across the UK have been affected after it failed to uphold deals listed on the Wowcher money-saving website. A Wowcher spokeswoman said it “will be offering refunds where the service advertised has not been received in full”.
Abi Hughes, from Milton Keynes, spent over £400 on photography for her son and daughter-in-law’s wedding reception through Wowcher in July. She said: “It just all sounded pucker, nothing raised alarm bells.”
Director Angela Mascaro, who set up Burjourzee Ltd just over a year ago, said the business was unable to keep up with payments after running an offer that “didn’t work”, adding there is “nothing sinister” in its collapse.
