Cameron visits Wakefield overnight in campaign sweep
David Cameron was engaged in a gruelling all-night push to win over undecided voters today as polls continued to suggest he was not on course to secure an outright win at the ballot box.
The Tory leader said he wanted to use every second remaining to him to press home his message that only a decisive victory for the Conservatives would sort out the "mess" the country was in.

He said: "There are millions of people still making up their minds. While there are still hours to campaign in, I think it is important to keep campaigning.

"I want us to have a new government with the energy, the ideas and the values to get our country moving."
Mr Cameron won a big-name celebrity endorsement when TV talent supremo Simon Cowell declared the Tory leader was "the prime minister Britain needs at this time".
The multi-millionaire entrepreneur, writing in The Sun newspaper, said he believed Mr Cameron had the "substance and the stomach to navigate us through difficult times".
Answering questions from staff at the Morrisons supermarket distribution centre in Wakefield - amid the aroma of freshly-baked bread - Mr Cameron welcomed Cowell's endorsement.
"That's welcome news at any hour of the day but particularly in the middle of the night," he said.
"But in the end this election is going to be decided by millions of people with their pens hovering over the ballot paper. I hope they vote for change."
Senior party sources were upbeat about their chances of a symbolic defeat of Mr Balls - pointing to a groundswell of support among students for their candidate, Antony Calvert.
After the visit, Mr Cameron remounted the bus for a date with fishermen landing their catch in Grimsby.
