A DOUBLE-DECKER bus has come off the road and smashed into a wall in east Leeds.

The incident on Gibson Lane happened at around 6.30pm on Thursday.

Alec Shelbrooke, MP for Elmet and Rothwell, posted a photo of the scene on Twitter, adding: “Terrible scene on Gibson Lane in Kippax a moment ago.

“Hopefully nobody injured, please avoid while police deal.”

Graham Sykes, 68, lives nearby. He said: “The bus is laid at 45 degrees in someone’s garden.

“The road is closed and it is absolutely covered with every type of emergency service.”

Buses were diverted during the incident.
