A COUNCILLOR who was found to have bullied social workers and used abusive language by an independent investigation has been reprimanded.

Wakefield councillors overwhelmingly voted to censure Coun Steve Tulley over his behaviour at a meeting last year to discuss the welfare of a family in his South Elmsall and South Kirkby ward.

The Very Rev George Nairn-Briggs, who chairs the authority’s standards committee, told a full meeting of Wakefield Council that Coun Tulley had repeatedly refused to answer questions about the incident from council officers and the independent investigation that followed.
