Bomber's bungalow still on the market

By NEIL HUDSON THE home of suicide bomb ringleader Mohammed Siddique Khan is still up for sale more than a year after it was put on the market.

The three-bedroom bungalow on the quiet Thornhill Park Avenue in Dewsbury was initially put on the market for 179,000 following the July 7 terror attacks but is now offered by Silks Estate Agents for 175,000.

London tube bomber Khan shared the house with his wife, Hasina, and her mother, Farida Patel.

Mrs Patel, the well respected owner of the house, vacated the property after police raided it and another house on nearby Lees Holm in the wake of the bombings last year.

The daughter of a well respected anti-apartheid activist in South Africa, Mrs Patel was prominent in her charity work and had even accepted an invitation to a garden party at Buckingham Palace in 1988.

She left her job as a support teacher at a Dewsbury school shortly after July 7 and is understood to have moved out of the area. She has made no public comment since the atrocities but close friends said after the attacks she was "devastated."

Dewsbury South Tory Coun Khizar Iqbal, who counted Mrs Patel among his personal friends and had known her for many years, said: "I do not know where she is now. I think she has moved right out of the area."
