Big Brother warned to 'prepare for Amy'

LEEDS artist Amy Jackson is set to give Big Brother "a run for their money" with her charm and wit, say her proud parents.

Jacky and Alex Jackson were glued to the box last night as art whizz Amy took to the screen in Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack house on Channel 4 .

Sisters Annabel, 29, and Julyann, 31, and brother Alexander, 33, were also cheering on the 21-year-old from their homes in London.

"She's the baby so we say 'it's Amy again up to her little things'.

"I think she will come across as quite witty because she's that type of person, she's not shy.

"I think when she comes into her own, she will give Big Brother a run for their money," said Mrs Jackson who runs a riding school near the family home in Scarcroft.

Amy, who is studying a BA in Fine Art at Ruskin College, Oxford, is among 12 contestants all chosen for their talent – instead of the usual fame-hungry wannabes.

The former Leeds Girls' High School pupil has a string of accolades under her belt including winning the Geoffrey Rhodes Prize for the highest first-year exam results.

She is also a multi-award-winning conceptual artist, working with photography and installations.

But rather than painting which she finds "too messy," Amy's forte is "conceptual art".

She hopes to use her Big Brother experience as a Turner Prize entry.

Mrs Jackson added: "Amy loves Leeds – they all know she's from up north!

"She's a proper Leeds girl. She loves going out here.

"I am not sure she will win it but I think she would like her art work to be recognised."
