The robber wields a baseball bat

A masked robber menacingly wields a baseball bat during a raid on a supermarket in Leeds.

The CCTV image has been released by police investigating the incident at Sainsbury’s, in Queensway, Yeadon.

Two men – the other armed with a knife – threatened staff before stealing cash from the tills along with cigarettes and alcohol. They then ran onto Shaw Leys, where some of the stolen items were later found.

The incident happened about 11pm on Wednesday, March 5.

Both robbers were masked. One was wearing a brown hooded coat with black shoulders and toggles on the front. He also wore dark blue jeans and striped Adidas trainers. The other was in a purple hooded top and grey or black jeans.
