"The Sound of Music was a favourite English song in China so I thought if I was going to sing a song in Chinese then I may as well sing that.
"I would like to give a special thank you to Jia Ren who taught me all my Chinese songs and although she is now back in China we still keep in touch."
Lucy's singing talent come to the fore with her debut at Bingley Theatre with the Gilbert and Sullivan Juniors.
She then decided to have professional singing lessons and now trains regularly with vocal tutor James Ashworth.
Lucy practices every day for at least one hour and will be back in the recording studio this year to record some new material.
She added: "I want to be able to sing as many languages as I could get my hands on.
"The next five years now all depends on the next two years. I have got my A-levels and then it is all about vocal training and getting my voice up to a really good standard as well as getting a lot of performance experience.
"Singing is the thing that I love doing the most in the world."
Lucy has already performed at The Music UK Event at the Hard Rock Cafe, in Manchester, and the Grassington Music Festival.
The Last Night of the Proms performance at The Harrogate International Centre will be on May 15.
