MASKED men armed with large knives stole cash and cigarettes in a raid on a convenience store.

The pair threatened staff in Tesco Express on Leeds Road, Outwood, last night (Feb 27) before loading large bags with packets of cigarettes and hundreds of pounds in cash.

It is thought they escaped along Bolus Lane following the 10.20pm incident.

Both were white. One was about 5ft 8ins tall, slim and wearing a black coloured jacket with the hood pulled up, a scarf over his mouth and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms. He spoke with a local accent.

The second wore a grey Adidas tracksuit with blue stripes, a navy blue hooded jumper with the hood pulled up over his head and a blue scarf around his mouth.

Scenes of crime officers have attended the scene and officers are currently conducting enquiries
