A TEENAGER from Leeds was sexually assaulted on a train home.
British Transport Police have now issued CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
The 19-year-old was on the Manchester to Scarborough service on Thursday, August 23 when the incident happened between Stalybridge and Leeds at about 5.30pm.
PC Tahira Bibi, who is investigating for BTP, said: “The victim was sitting on the train when a man came and sat next to her. The man then inappropriately touched her then exposed himself.
BTP initially made a public appeal for information immediately after the incident but have now issued clearer images of a man they are hoping someone may recognise.
“The new pictures clearly show the man and we believe someone must know who he is. If you recognise him, or have any information about this assault we’d like to hear from you, please come forward and speak to us,” PC Bibi added
“This was an extremely distressing experience for the victim, and we are determined to catch the man responsible.”
The man is Asian, about 5ft 10ins tall and roughly 20 years-old and slim. He was wearing a short-sleeved red checked shirt and carrying a rucksack.
It is believed he travelled to Bradford.
