A betting shop punter who was angry at losing money later returned with a knife to carry out an armed robbery.

The man was upset after a losing streak at a shop on Harrogate Road in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, on Tuesday, April 8.

Detective Constable Andy Herbert, of Leeds District CID, said: “He left the premises before returning a short time later with a knife making demands for money.

“He took cash from the till before making off from the scene.”

Police are appealing for information after issuing a CCTV image of the man.
