As well as pond dipping sessions, children have been finding out about the importance of clean water and taking part in experiments to clean up their own water supplies.
The funding has allowed schools from across West Yorkshire to visit the Centre and take part in these water-related activities.
Mark Lowe, representing Aqua Enviro said: "We hope these water activity days, which encourage real hands on experience and problem solving, will really engage young people - and they will maybe remember them when they are making choices about careers at a later stage"
Skelton Grange Environment Centre is an innovative environmental education project in South Leeds, which is a partnership between BTCV and National Grid with support from Leeds City Council.
It offers a range of fun, hands-on environmental education activities for schoolchildren which aim to encourage an interest in the natural world.
