Allerton Grange pupil joins Leeds United academy
Emilio Oliver is pictured penning his two year contract at the Leeds United Academy.
Teenager Emilio Oliver looks to be heading for the big time after signing a two-year-contract to join the Leeds United Academy.
The deal follows the 14-year-old midfielder’s recent participation in the Mediterranean International Cup – one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in the world – played on the Costa Brava in Spain.
Oliver, a Year 10 student at Allerton Grange, has also played for Leeds City Boys and North East Leeds FC’s Sunday club as well as representing his school team.
His achievement follows previous sporting success stories from Allerton Grange such as rugby star Pete Lucock, who is now in the Leeds Carnegie first team squad for next season, and Taran Jeeta who is currently playing for Yeovil Town.
Footballers David Batty, Caleb Folan and Brian Deane forged top-flight careers after emerging at Allerton Grange while Scotland and former Lions rugby coach Ian McGeechan is also a former pupil.
