Ailing Leeds-based fashion chain Republic has been bought by retail giant Sports Direct.
Leeds-based Republic plunged into administration earlier this month following a slump in sales.
Today, (Feb 28) however, its administrators revealed that Sports Direct had bought the business for an unconfirmed sum.
The sale includes the Republic brand as well as its Thorpe Park headquarters in Leeds and 116 stores nationwide.
Joint administrator Hunter Kelly, from accountancy firm Ernst & Young, said the deal had saved 2,100 jobs.
