Dogs Trust Leeds' new Lurcher puppies.

EIGHT adorable Lurcher puppies are looking for new homes after their mother couldn’t cope with her huge litter.

The tiny pups are seven days old and weigh just 1.3lbs.

Their mum Rusty was brought into Dogs Trust Leeds as a stray, and gave birth two weeks later.

After failing to bond with her litter, three staff members are now hand-rearing the pups, while two remain with Rusty.

The pooches, called Penguin, Monkey, Squirrel, Bunny, Mole, Panda, Tiger, Foxy, Ostrich and Alpaca, will go up for rehoming in eight weeks’ time.

Amanda Sands from Dogs Trust Leeds, said: “Staff have taken on a mammoth task of hand rearing these pups so that they can survive.

“Neutering your pets is paramount to prevent unwanted litters like these poor little ones.”

To give one of these puppies a new home, call 0113 281 4920.
