Former Coronation Street cutie Nikki Sanderson looks forlorn as she sits by the side of a road. But her legions of fans need not worry that the 23-year-old's career has gone down a bit of cul-de-sac since she left one of Britain's biggest soaps.
These are actually publicity pictures of the petite actress who is getting ready to film her first episode of ITV1's Heartbeat due to be shown later in the year.
Nikki will play Dawn Bellamy, niece of the late Phil Bellamy, in the drama, made by Yorkshire Television and shot on the North York Moors near Whitby.
She quit The Street in autumn 2005 when her character Candice left to become a stylist for Status Quo.
Nikki will begin filming in Yorkshire at the end of this month.
