A further 130 jobs to go at Redcats

UP to 130 more jobs are under threat at Redcats UK in Wakefield and Bradford.
The online shopping giants last year slashed around 700 jobs after closing their Empire Stores sites in Wakefield and Bradford.
Redcats agreed at the time to continue to run the call centre in Horbury Road, Lupset, and warehouses in Kettlethorpe and Bradford.
Now the company say poor sales and cost cutting mean a further 130 jobs must go.
The firm said it had entered a formal consultation with unions over the latest redundancy plan.
A Redcats spokesman said the company is committed to relocating its UK call centre to new offices on a 50 year lease in the Wakefield area.
Savings
But the spokesman added: "Unfortunately, the cost savings have not kept pace with low sales volumes and further measures are needed in order to maintain the visibility of the business."
"The Company has commenced formal consultation with the recognised trade unions and the Executive Association on proposed redundancies, which it is envisaged will not exceed 130 positions across its operations in Bradford and Wakefield."
David Johnson, Usdaw national officer with responsibility for Redcats, said: "Most of the workforce across Redcats in Bradford and Wakefield are Usdaw members.
"The union is fully involved with the consultation process and has scheduled a number of meetings with Redcats, continuing next Tuesday and Friday, to look at the proposals and find the best way forward for our members at this difficult time."
Strike
Meanwhile, more than 200 workers at Superdrug's national distribution centre at South Elmsall near Pontefract returned to work on Tuesday after a three week strike.
The walk out was over proposed cuts to holiday pay and sickness entitlement and changes in payments for working unsociable shift patterns.
The workers voted in favour of returning to the Stadium Way warehouse in a ballot on Monday after a compromise was agreed with the company.
A Superdrug spokeswoman said : "Following meetings with the union and ACAS, a workers' ballot took place where workers have voted to return to work. Our objective has always been to safeguard jobs and to make no redundancies. We are delighted that we have achieved this objective."
