Leeds scored a double win in a national group travel awards.
Welcome to Yorkshire’s website yorkshire.com staved off competition from various tourism organisations, including the capital’s London & Partners, to be named Best Travel Website 2012.
And Jet2.com was named Best Airline 2012.
The awards were organised by Group Leisure magazine, and the winners voted for by their readers, including sports and social clubs, associations for the retired, and special interest societies.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted to have won the Best Travel Website for Groups 2012 Award.
“To ensure we keep on top of our game, we refreshed the site back in January and are delighted it’s such a hit with the readers.”
Jason Harvey, group sales manager of Jet2.com, said: “Jet2.com is proud to have won Best Airline. We would like to thank all our customers and the readers of Group Leisure magazine, who have chosen us as their preferred airline for groups.”
