20mph Leeds zone welcomed
PLANS are being drawn up to introduce a 20mph zone at a Leeds speeding hot-spot.
Along with the lower speeding limit, speed cushions, raised junctions and new signs and road markings will be introduced in the Fearnville area of Gipton.
The proposals have been welcomed by Coun Brian Selby (Lab, Killingbeck and Seacroft) who said: "I am delighted that the council has finally decided it plans to address the terrible road safety situation in the Fearnville area.
"We have been pushing for these changes for a long time – it is great news, and I am sure it will be welcomed by both residents and drivers.
"What we need now is clear and decisive action to make these plans a reality as soon as possible."
