150 not out: Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s anniversary

Star names from past and present including Geoffrey Boycott, Michael Vaughan and current captain Andrew Gale gathered at the Crucible Studio Theatre in Sheffield yesterday. (Jan 8)

The event marked the formation of the club on the site of what was the Adelphi Hotel, Sheffield, on January 8 1863. Danny Reuben, the club’s communications and marketing manager, said: “I think it means a hell of a lot to the people of Yorkshire.”

Pictured are Geoffrey Boycott and Andrew Gale enjoying a joke.
