Yorkshire hits the heights as location for feature films
YORKSHIRE'S growing reputation as a movie-making hotspot has won a double boost.
Two major feature films are due to start shooting in the county, Screen Yorkshire announced today.
The first is Oscar-winning director Andrea Arnold's take on the classic Emily Bronte novel Wuthering Heights.
Adapted by acclaimed writer Olivia Hetreed (The Girl With A Pearl Earring), location shooting on Wuthering Heights will start in May.
The second of the Yorkshire-bound films is Tyrannosaur, which marks the writer-director debut of actor Paddy Considine (Dead Man's Shoes).
Described as an exploration of love and friendship, the project's principal photography gets under way in Leeds on April 12.
Its stars include Peter Mullan (Trainspotting) and Olivia Colman (Hot Fuzz).
Both features are backed by Screen Yorkshire, the Leeds-based agency that promotes the county's cinema, broadcast and media industries.
