PCSO Cara Papworth and PC Charlotte Hails, from the West Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team, organised the initiatives as part of work they and their colleagues are doing with the schools to address the issues, which have been highlighted by parents and other residents as local priorities under the Policing Pledge.

Accompanied by the officers, pupils approached offending drivers and warned them about their behaviour. Drivers were offered the chance to write out lines as punishment or get a fixed penalty ticket.
Working in partnership with Leeds City Council's Road Safety Unit, a speed indication device (SID) was set up to urge drivers to slow down. The device displays a smiley face to motorists within the limit and a sad face to those over it.
Inspector Richard Cawkwell, who heads the West Outer NPT, said: "Children's lives can be put at risk by speeding, inconsiderate driving and poor parking outside schools. It is an issue that has been highlighted to us by residents at our regular Police and Communities Together meetings and we are obviously keen to respond to their concerns.
"We are committed to working with local residents to identify and address the issues that matter most to them and this is an example of us doing just that."
