Wortley: Police cleared over chef death

A former chef found dead in a beck in Wortley was spoken to by police a day earlier after walking through the city in pyjamas.

Dean Miller, 34, of Armley, found by builders near Branch Lane after discharging himself from hospital the day before.

He was seen in Wellington Street in pyjamas holding a medical tube. Police took him to his partner's home in Branch Place, Wortley.

An Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation into Mr Miller's death on March 3 2008 found that the actions of police officers and control room staff were "entirely appropriate".

An inquest heard Mr Miller had a history of alcohol problems.
