Wortley man struck by taxi

A Wortley man was in hospital fighting for his life last night after being struck by a taxi crossing a road near Leeds city centre.

The 20-year-old man was struck by a black and white Skoda Octavia licensed hackney carriage taxi as it travelled along Woodhouse Lane at 12.30am on Wednesday, August 26.

The man suffered a serious head injury in the impact with the taxi and he was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he was later said to be in a "critical" condition.
