The creation of this new team was made possible by the support and kit sponsorship from Mike Massen of Garton Solicitors, which has provided start-up funding including the purchase of a new kit.
The club boasts more than 350 members, 20 junior and open age football teams and provides football opportunities for children from 4 years upwards and the club has a structure to allow children to progress into Open Age Football.
Roy Kearsley of Wortley FC said: "The team have had a good start to the season and the club is very proud to provide a Women's Open Age football team and is further committed to developing the Junior Girls section over the coming seasons to provide members for the Open Age team from the Junior ranks.
"The club would like to thank Mike Massen from Garton Solictors for his generous support which has allowed the club to setup this team."
