Councillor Peter Gruen (Lab, Crossgates & Whinmoor) told Cross Gates Today: "I was delighted that so many youngsters from East Leeds came along to the course to improve their cricketing skills, and their fitness. They all looked like they were having a fantastic time. Who knows, we may have even uncovered the next Freddie Flintoff or Charlotte Edwards?

"I also want to offer a big thank you to Arnie Sidebottom, Tony Bowry and all the other coaches who have worked so hard to make this week a success."

Councillor Keith Parker, chairman of Leeds City Council's East (Outer) Area Committee, added: "It is not often these kids will get the chance to learn from the best – Arnie is a real cricketing legend so I was delighted to welcome him and the team back to East Leeds. This course continues to go from strength to strength and I hope we will continue to see a growing number of local boys and girls attending each year."
