On the night of Sunday, October 4, shrubs and plants were torn up and hurled about by vandals.

Local had reset some of the plants pulled up in an earlier attack at the site off Sixth Avenue.

The community centre opened about 12 years ago in memory of late campaigning councillor Rose Lund.

Police in Rothwell are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, including people who attended a youth club at the centre that evening. Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact PC Debbie Farley on 0113 2382091.

She said: "We are appalled by this behaviour. Residents are trying really hard to make this estate a better place for their children to live on, and this kind of damage is an insult to their hard work."
