Valet could suit you sir – for £100 per hour

It's an idea sure to delight any man who wants to achieve maximum style with minimum effort.

Gentleman's tailor Toby Luper is offering the chance to have their wardrobe overhauled, clothes cleaned, shoes shined, buttons mended and even their holiday suitcases packed.

Best of all, he can perform his domestic miracles while a customer is out at work, down the shops or in the gym.

The men-only Home Valet service is thought to be the first of its kind in the North and will be available exclusively to Toby's tailoring clients at a cost of around 100 per hour.

The system already operates successfully in London and Toby is confident that Leeds men will use the service.

He said: "What I aim to provide is full wardrobe maintenance and care – from valeting shoes through to pressing ties and replacing buttons, packing for clients ahead of trips and overhauling wardrobes on a seasonal basis. I can hold keys for their homes and the whole process can take place while clients are out at work."

Toby, 54, began his Hemingway tailoring business around 18-months ago after a 30-year career in the textile industry.

Working from his Wakefield base, Toby aims to provide a Savile Row-style service with a Northern price tag.

Even so, for a bespoke suit, clients can expect to shell out around 1,850 plus VAT. A made-to-measure garment meanwhile starts at around 525.

The valet service is available as an add-on service to customers who can expect to pay between 75 to 100 per hour, depending on the work required.

Graham Berks from BDO Stoy Hayward Chartered Accountants in Leeds is one of the customers using Toby's service.

He said: "There's nothing quite like a perfectly fitting suit, and having an expert to maintain your suits, ties, shirts and shoes so everything looks and feels like new every time you wear it – that's an attractive concept."
