Tuesday coffee morning members celebrate Yorkshire Day
Regulars at scheme's Tuesday coffee morning celebrated Yorkshire Day by taking part in a Yorkshire Quiz.
The quiz which has become an annual feature of the CGNS calendar consists of general knowledge questions with a Yorkshire theme.
This year both Jack Robertson and Betty Linley scored an impressive 18 out of 25.
The situation was resolved with a tie-breaker question with Jack being declared the eventual winner.
Jack, who has recently moved to Cross Gates from Cambridge, has only been a member of CGNS for a month and says he has been made to feel very welcome. Coincidently, Jack retired on Yorkshire Day (1st August) in 2003.
Betty however, has been a member since the scheme started in 2003. She says she loves coming to the coffee mornings because it is an opportunity to meet good friends.
The coffee mornings, on Tuesdays and Fridays 10am until 12pm, are an opportunity for members to meet friends, have a chat and a drink and sometimes exercise the old grey matter! (That's the brain cells not the hair)
