Teacher training in Horsforth gets top marks
Teacher training at Horsforth's Trinity and All Saints has been given top marks, according to the results of a recent survey. Click here for more details.
In the survey of newly qualified teachers, Leeds Trinity won top marks for overall quality in training, assessment and feedback, and support and guidance.
The Training and Development Agency (TDA) was behind the survey which has seen Leeds Trinity come top of the class for the last three years.
The annual TDA survey, the latest of which questioned graduates from 2006, assesses new teachers' views of their training and how well it prepared them for their first year in teaching.
Jessica Smith, who immediately secured her first teaching post at a school in Leeds after graduating in 2006, said: "The school-based training was remarkably well organised and supported, providing experience of a range of year groups and different types of schools."
John Hill, Dean of Education at Leeds Trinity, said: "Leeds Trinity has an excellent track record in training teachers and we are delighted with these results."
Leeds Trinity & All Saints is an accredited college of the University of Leeds and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and diplomas of the university.
Currently more than 2,500 students are following full and part-time programmes at the Horsforth campus.
