The College is being built in Armley to replace West Leeds and Wortley High Schools which are to merge next summer.
The college will cater for 1,200 youngsters, but between them the two existing schools have 1,637 pupils.

The number of surplus pupils will decline over the next few years and during that period the additional children will be accommodated in the annexe to be created on the Wortley High School site.
A report to the council's executive board said the cost of developing the annexe had been assessed as between 948,000 and 1,130,000.
Labour group leader Coun Keith Wakefield said: "Even in four years' time there will still be 112 pupils who cannot fit it. Surely that is not acceptable?"
Chris Edwards, Education Leeds chief executive, said: "If we look at the landscape from 2012 onwards there will be surplus capacity.
"We are making sure need and provision match
"The rationale for moving from two schools to one makes sense."
