St Gemma's: Sporting heroes answer quiz call to help hospice

Stars of cricket, football, golf and athletics formed a winning team which helped raise £30,000 for Moortown's St Gemma's Hospice.

Around 300 people took part in the hospice's sixth annual Questions of Sport celebrity quiz and dinner at Elland Road.

The stars included Yorkshire's Brian Close, runner Steve Cram, golf's Howard Clark and football commentator and ex-Leeds United player Chris Kamara.

The event was hosted by Sky Sports and Countdown presenter Jeff

Stelling who, along with the sporting personalities, asking sports related questions to the audience of representatives from local companies.

Rugby league commentator Mike 'Stevo' Stephenson and Daniellle Brown, the youngest member of the 2008 Paralympics GB archery squad were also among those who gave their time for free to support Yorkshire's largest hospice.

The event was sponsored by Leeds solicitors Clarion.
