Budding explorers could follow in the footsteps of stars like Leeds-born DJ Chris Moyles and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole.

The hospice runs the challenge with the same company which organised the celebrity trek for Comic Relief.

St Gemma's supporters can climb the mountain in Tanzania, Africa, in either September or December.

Fundraising assistant Fran Shilton told Moortown Today: "This is a truly unique and fantastic opportunity to trek one of the most renowned landmarks of the world. It is really popular and although very challenging, the rewards are priceless."
