Pupils at Cobden Primary were taught the importance of effective sun protection during a visit by the sun squad as part of a Garnier Ambre Solaire School's Sun Awareness Scheme.

The scheme provides free sun awareness packs for primary schools to help remind children to cover up with a t-shirt, splat on some sun screen and put on a hat. The packs are designed as a fun way to get an important message across.

Darren Bertrand, Garnier's general manager, told Wortley Today: "Although awareness of sun safety in the UK is low, we hope that by educating young people in Leeds about the dangers faced when in the sun, we can help them develop good sun protection habits which will stay with them for the rest of their lives."
