Money was raised from several events held by the Rotary Club of Calverley and Trevor Eakin chose the Air Ambulance because one of his friends had had his life saved by aircrew in 2008.

In 2008 the Club had already given 1,500 to help fund this essential service.

There are over 1,850 Rotary Clubs across Great Britain and Ireland carrying out service projects, raising money for local and international community based initiatives.

Each Rotary Club is a group of professional and business people who share the common aim of "putting something back" into society.
