Richmond House: Circus event raises cash
Parents of youngsters at Richmond House School in Headingley ended the term on a high note by raising more than £2,000 at a circus themed event to raise funds for a shelter to provide shade for schoolchildren.
Parents of pupils they were thrilled with the day, which was held to raise cash to fund the structure to help protect schoolchildren from the effects of the sun whilst outdoors at school.
Headteacher Jane Disley said: "We are extremely active in promoting sun sense with our pupils here at Richmond House and we are very grateful to our parents association for organising this excellent event to help us protect our pupils from the sun's harmful effects at peak times of the day.
"The association has already funded the provision of an outdoor classroom which allows children to enjoy the outdoors in fine weather and play houses. The parents have raised a lot by organising enjoyable fundraising events including a school ball, disco and ladies night. A big thank you to them once again."
