Pop stars among calendar top sellers

X Factor star Cheryl Cole is a dream date - after figures showed today her calendar is one of the biggest sellers of the year.

The Girls Aloud singer is the third best-seller in the run-up to Christmas according to a new official chart.

Boy band JLS managed to top the chart, with the second Twilight movie New Moon at second place in the chart.

All three are new entries for this year, while 2008's biggest hit, High School Musical, fails to even register in the top 20 this year.

Annual favourites such as Manchester United and Liverpool have also been nudged way down this year's list. United have dropped from 2008's third place to six, while Liverpool plummet from two to nine.

Despite her high profile thanks to her appearance on I'm A Celebrity..., Katie Price has failed to even make the top 20 with her Jordan calendar.

And X Factor judge Cole has showed she is way more popular than the rest of her Girls Aloud bandmates whose calendar has also failed to make a dent in the 20 best-sellers.

For the first time in many years, Sir Cliff Richard drops out of the top 10 to number 13.

The chart has been compiled by Europe's biggest official Calendar-maker Danilo and retailer HMV.

A spokeswoman for Danilo said: "It's all change on our walls this year".
