About a dozen girls, aged 11 to 16, formed the group in January, perfecting their act during lunch-time classes with their dance teacher, Sarah Mellor.

They won through two local heats before representing Leeds in the West Yorkshire final.

Their routine included school chants, performed to Black Eyed Peas track Pump It.

Other finalists included Wakefield Girls' High and Heckmondwike Grammar.
