Park wins best green space award
Temple Newsam estate has been recognised as one of the best green spaces in England & Wales.
The estate is one of six green spaces across the city to have been awarded a prestigious Green Flag award.
The others are Golden Acre Park, Kirkstall Abbey, Lotherton Hall Estate, Pudsey Park and Roundhay Park.
Awards are given on an annual basis and winners must apply each year to renew their Green Flag status.
Councillor John Procter, Leeds City Council executive board member for leisure, said: "We are all immensely proud of the quality of the parks we have in Leeds, and the Green Flag Awards show just how impressive they are.
"On behalf of the city, I would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make our parks such a success."
