The contrasting cottages of weaver and manager generated lots of excited conversation as people saw rag rugs, like the ones they used to make as children, on display.

One member said his mother used to give each of her sons a corner to do and another that her mother used the shape of the flat iron as a pattern. After a picnic lunch we moved into the lovely old style cinema for some home cinefilm footage called Bygone Leeds.
Sweets were supplied by our very own volunteer usher Bob, accompanied on the piano by Mario one of the members. The day had an extra special air of celebration about it as group member Thelma Schneider was celebrating her 90th birthday!
Every one of the Out 'n About groups' trips is cause for celebration and enjoyment however, as Sport Relief funding has made it possible for people without their own transport, or requiring support to get out and about due to a variety of health needs, to do just that. None of this would be possible without the team of dedicated volunteers the Scheme has to draw on to provide support as needed.
Our thanks also to Passenger Services whose drivers are always so helpful and to the staff of Leeds City Councils' Visitor Attractions who without fail have been helpful, informative and friendly.
* If you are interested in knowing more about the services we offer, or in volunteering with us in any one of a variety of roles, then do please telephone Jennifer Sellars, Project Coordinator on (0113) 2606565 or call into our office on Station Road, opposite the Shopping Centre in St Theresa's Parish Centre.
