This month's market on Saturday, September 20, will be celebrating Yorkshire's own varied and scrumptious offering via both its regular stall holders and the guest stalls.

Mike Tattersall, spokesman for Roundhay Environmental Action Project (REAP) who run the market, said: "We are delighted that we have a couple new starters to the market this September and fittingly they are both local firms selling great products you won't find in the supermarket.

"They are a soup company who will be selling hot soups to consume on site or take away. We also have a small farmer from York who supplies apples direct from the tree to you.

"Both stalls will be great additions to the market for the next six months.

REAP is a newly formed organisation established by local residents on a voluntary basis, who are concerned about their carbon footprint and wanting to develop a greener lifestyle.

It hopes to set up further projects, enabling people locally to live more sustainable and is open to ideas for new initiatives.

Membership is free, so if you want to join or find out more about this inspiring new venture, visit: www.roundhayaction.org.uk, or email: info@roundhayaction.org.uk
