New Oxo family is your choice
The public is being asked to vote in a contest to find a new Oxo family to recreate one of television's most famous adverts.
The original family, headed by mum played by actress Lynda Bellingham, featured in a series of adverts over 16 years before the campaign ended in 1999.
Their squabbling over the dinner table made them familiar faces and saw sales of Oxo stock cubes and gravy rise by 10 per cent.
The Oxo Factor was launched this year and allowed would-be families to film their own adverts in a bid to win a 10,000 prize.
The five finalists will see their videos shown online and on television before the public is asked to vote for their favourite.
The finalists are the Harry Family from North London, the Woodhouse Family from Hove in East Sussex, the Nasho Family from Newcastle and the Dawson Family from Buckingham.
Also in the final are the Califano and Hurst families from east London who joined together to make their advert.
The winner will be announced during an advertising break in The X Factor final on ITV1 on Saturday December 12.
