New Armley Leisure Centre open
The new multi-million pound Armley Leisure Centre is now open.
The facilities include a 25-metre swimming pool, 10-metre learner pool, hydrotherapy pool, 100-station Bodyline gym, four-court sports hall, two-court sports hall, dance studio and a caf, as well as a multi-use games area outside.

It has been built as part of a 33m project overseen by the city council which will see another new centre open in Morley next month.

To mark the opening the first 100 customers through the doors received a special commemorative gift. A community open day giving people an opportunity to tour the centre will be held on Saturday.

The day will also free health checks for adults, while young people will be able to sample dance mats, Vew-do boards and the council's Striker 5 football programme.
Coun John Procter, the council's executive member for leisure, said: "We want this centre to be a great new focal point for those in the local community and beyond."
