Leeds charity fashion show

AN evening of glitz and glamour helped raised thousands of pounds for a Leeds charity.

The fashion show last night at the city's Alea casino at Clarence Dock was staged in aid of Phys-Cap, which buys specialist equipment for children with physical disabilities.

Around 120 guests, including Leeds Lord Mayor Judith Elliott, attended, raising around 4,000.

There were some familiar faces on the catwalk, too – some of the cast of Yorkshire TV soap Emmerdale were models.

The clothes were from Harvey Nichols, hair by Leeds's Ego salon and choreography by Francesca MacDuff-Varley of Leeds-based A-list.

The charity's patron Sir Michael Parkinson, along with Leeds-born author Barbara Taylor-Bradford recorded special voiceovers for the show.

Physcap is also raising 200,000 for a play area at Temple Newsam park. Anyone who would like to make a donation can contact the charity at www.physcap.org.
