The Jet2 corporate team is running in aid of Age Concern and Help the Aged, in this year's YEP-backed dash, which takes place on Sunday, November 22, from the city centre along Kirkstall Road, Leeds, and back.
As sponsors of the popular 10km road race, Jet2.com has recruited an ever increasing number of employees ranging from air stewards and check-in staff to the managing director of the airline, persuading them to swap their wings for trainers. Along with Leeds model Nell McAndrew and TV's Apprentice runner-up Claire Young, of Wakefield, there will be 6,000 runners taking part.
Ian Doubtfire, managing director at Jet2.com and who is taking part, said: "It's fantastic that so many of the Jet2.com team are joining me on the Dash to help raise money for such a deserving charity which helps Yorkshire's older generation.
"There's lots of healthy competition evolving between staff as training regimes step up a pace with the race date getting closer."
Sarah Greene, events fundraiser at Age Concern and Help the Aged, said: "We've seen a number of corporate teams sign up to this year's Leeds Abbey Dash, and we can't wait to find out which one will raise the most.
"The team at Jet2.com has impressed us all with their creativity and they've really helped get the Leeds Abbey Dash off to a flying start."
Runners in the Dash will once again be raising funds for local older people's projects in Yorkshire, including the Age Concern and Help the Aged HandyVan service, ensuring older people can live independently in their own homes and enjoy peace of mind.
Thousands of runners have already signed up to the Leeds Abbey Dash.
