Leeds MP Greg Mulholland said the "devastating" coroner's verdict into the death of Dr John Hubley at Eccleshill Independent Sector Treatment Centre raised issues that should now be debated by MPs in Westminster.
Commons Leader Harriet Harman said she would pass on his concerns to the Health Secretary, Alan Johnson.

Dr John Hubley died in January last year after suffering massive bleeding during routine keyhole gall bladder surgery at the Eccleshill centre near Bradford.
The centre has a contract to carry out thousands of day-case procedures on Leeds patients each year.
A coroner last week decided 58-year-old Dr Hubley's death was caused by misadventure aggravated by neglect. His inquest heard how – despite blood loss being a recognised complication of that procedure – there was a lack of specialist equipment and no blood kept at the centre.
Bosses at the centre have announced a review and a ban on keyhole operations.
