Historic Pudsey pub to be converted into offices
A historic pub in Pudsey's conservation area is to be partly demolished as part of a housing and office scheme.
The main three-story part of the Park Hotel in Church Lane – which is no longer open for business – will be retained and converted into offices.

A two-storey section alongside, thought to date back to the 1820s, and a small 2004-built extension at the rear of the pub will be knocked down.

The main part of the Park Hotel was built in the 18th century and was originally a farmhouse before being converted into a pub.
It has been described as an important building in the town's conservation area.
The original scheme drawn up for the site sparked controversy when it was proposed to completely bulldoze the pub and replace it with five two-bedroom flats and an office.
Pudsey Civic Society and the Victorian Society were among the objectors but a report to the council's west plans panel said both organisations now supported the revised scheme.
