Headingley: Violent boyfriend jailed for attacks
A paranoid thug from Headingley who kicked and punched his girlfriend in the head has been jailed for three years.
Jealous drunk John Moran, 32, would not let his girlfriend Michelle Walker, 24, speak to any other men and if she did he brutally beat her, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Moran, of Kensington Terrace, Headingley, pushed Miss Walker down outside steps after he caught her talking to a man at a flat in Beeston last November 28.

He punched and kicked her hard in the face when she fell to the floor covered in blood. Moran fled the attack scene before police arrived.
Miss Walker was treated for severe facial cuts and bruising.
Prosecutor Alan Taylor said police were looking for Moran but before he was arrested he was back together with Miss Walker.
On December 30 Moran and Miss Walker went on a night out with two of Moran's friends before returning to one of the men's bedsits in Beeston.
The court heard Moran, pictured, again flew into a jealous rage and punched her in the face four times.
One witness later told police Moran had "punched the living daylights out of her."
When police arrested Moran on January 2 this year he was in his bedsit asleep with Miss Walker by his side. She was found to be suffering from serious bruising to her left ankle, lower leg and face.
Mr Taylor said: "She was wincing with pain when she tried to put weight on her leg." He added: "The complainant told officers she felt trapped and had somehow got herself dependent on this defendant and couldn't get away from the relationship."
Jailing him, Judge Geoffrey Marson QC told Moran: "These offences of assault are quite disgraceful."
Moran, who admitted wounding and two offences of assault, has a catalogue of previous convictions for assault, battery and assaulting police.
In 1994 he was jailed for four years for attacking a woman.
